I've posted this in numerous other 'toon boards, but let me post it here as well... There is an issue I'd like to open concerning the 1975 H-B New Tom & Jerry shows. They're currently not on right now, but I noticed that, from all the VHS recordings I made of them over the past few years from Cartoon Network and Boomerang (when they did air them!), of the 48 7-minute T&J cartoons made for TV in 1975, there are certain ones which haven't aired! Here is a list of them: - "Gopher Broke" (80-09)
- "Cosmic Cat And Meteor Mouse" (80-15)
- "The Flying Sorceress"* (80-19)
- "Termites Plus Two" (80-21)
- "The Egg And Tom And Jerry" (80-34)
- "Watch Out, Watch Dog" (80-12)
- "Triple Trouble" (80-36)
- "Cruise Kitty" (80-46)
*Not to be confused with the 1956 MGM T&J cartoon of the same name. A flagrant case of rerun abuse, maybe? It's not bad enough that they're rerunning the theatricals to death and back... They did, however, air in full force on Canada's Teletoon.

Personally, I think it's understandable that the theatrical Tom & Jerry cartoons get more attention and more airtime...after all, they are vintage Tom & Jerry! But I certainly can empathize with someone who has a passion for a show which isn't shared by the masses. You do (in this case) have options. Those cartoons were made available in syndication to local TV stations and prints are out there. Especially in this world of "branding" and "logo bugs" and "demographics" and everything else...I imagine you may already have done this...I hate to plug ebaY, but if you fish around there, you probably can snag some 16mm broadcast prints of the cartoons and have them transferred to video. Then it won't matter if Boomerang doesn't want to air them. I still get a kick out of how T&J were drawn in their 1975 incarnations in that TNT Hanna-Barbera special in the late 1980s.

I took that route back in 1997. I contacted Tom Hudgins and ordered 2 16mm prints: "No Bones About It" (80-04) and "Watch Out, Watch Dog" (80-12). Also, a friend of mine sent me a CD rom full of RealVideo and DIVx files of 1975 T&J cartoons last year (the digitally remastered editions from Teletoon in the late 1990s). I even posted a few online @ YouTube (before WB called me on it! ). I saw that H-B special too!
